Privacy Policy

Photos, videos and PDFs you open in Markly are processed entirely on your own device, in your browser or in the app. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. This includes watermarking, background removal, face-aware placement and export.

In the Android app, Markly asks for access to your photos so you can pick files, and saves finished files to a “Markly” album in your gallery. It does not read anything else in your library.

When you export a photo, Markly keeps its camera details and date by default and always removes location (GPS) data and embedded preview images. You can turn “Keep photo details” off to remove all of it.

The Android app is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob: a short ad when the app starts (not on your first few launches) and a banner on the home screen. Ads are limited to content suitable for all ages.

To show and measure ads, Google may collect and use your device’s advertising ID, IP address, and information about the ads shown and your interactions with them. This is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, or in a US state with consumer privacy laws, the app asks for your choices before personalised ads are shown. You can change them at any time from “Privacy & ad settings” on the app’s home screen. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Markly works without an account. If you choose to sign in on the website to save watermark presets, we store your email address and the presets you save. Nothing else. You can delete your presets at any time, or email us to delete your account.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t receive or store your files. We don’t track you across other apps or sites ourselves.

Markly is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
